Annual Christmas Party
Our Christmas Party is one of the few times I try to ignore the "scale" for a day. It's the same routine and speech to our
boxers throughout the year; full workout, group drills, situps, pushups, pullups......and, "check your weight & write it down".
Today was a little different (as it is ONCE a year), workout, drills, exercises and, "go stuff your face with tamales". I always
get the nervous "is he kidding" look from some of the new boxers.
Our team gatherings outside the "boxing" mindset are what I enjoy the most about operating a boxing gym. We've had many
"BFF's" and one wedding that I know of thanks to friendships made through our boxing program. This year we added
another festivus to our December, Petey's BIRRRFFDAAAY! He got what's now become a "ritual" for the aging boxers, a
CAKE TO THE MUG courtesy of my right hook.
Thanks to a successful Silver Gloves fundraiser we were also able to buy new team shirts for the boxers that attended our
Christmas Party.
I'd also like to personally Thank ALL THE PARENTS that have helped us make this a memorable year. Thanks to everyone's
hardwork our 2009 Team was one of the strongest we have ever produced. Our Pro boxers all remained undefeated, we
picked up a few State & National Titles, Outstanding Team Trophies & Outstanding Boxer Awards at the Local & State Level.
It is not by concidence that this year was the first time we've had more than 2 registered coaches & assistants and 1 Level 2
official representing our TEAM at the State & National Level. So..... MUNCHOS THANK YOUS to Todos!
