Boxers score impressive wins over hometown foes!
Santibanez continues downward spiral.
March 27, 2010

It's not often that our boxers get to compete on their home turf. This past weekend our teams posse was able to witness first-hand the hard work &
dedication our boxers put into the gym does pay off. With our boxers only being one week into preparations for our Junior Olympic tournament they
were not in tip top form but still managed to score some blue collar victories over some very durable opponents.

Christian Santibanez vs Joey Alday - Christian's last 4 bouts have been VERY frustrating. He's able to compete and look impressive against good
opponents despite not being 100% dedicated. I've made exceptions and allowed him to compete so he can realize if he'd just dedicate himself he'd
be back to where he was once at, National Champion type form.

Pete Contreras Jr vs Roman Ruiz (Bully Unit - San Marcos) "Little Slim" had a "little" motivation going into this bout. His dad's birthday was
Sunday. His request? A win. "So I tell you to ask, and you will receive", I've heard that somewhere, not sure where the HELL at. This was a tight bout.
The fight was even going into the final round. Ruiz started strong but faded late and allowed Pete to take control of the fight and score the win. It was
a good win for Contreras in his 13th bout. Ruiz's 28th.
Steven Duron vs Joseph Rodriguez (Castillo's Boxing) This was by far Duron's most impressive victory. He stuck to the game plan, used his jab
and clearly out boxed the aggressive Rodriguez. The few times both boxers stood toe-to-toe Duron was able to score the cleaner blows. Good win
for Duron.

Cresencio Ramos vs Kendal Castaneda (San Fernando)This was a tough fight to score. Both boxers are very experienced and know how to
BOX. Going into this bout we all knew the winner would be determined by the boxer who made the least mistakes. Ramos was able to capitalize on
the few mistakes Kendal made and scored the hard earned victory.

Other boxers who were scheduled to compete but were scratched off the card due to the high number of bouts: Julian Ramos, Christopher "Santos"
Martinez, Ramon Cardenas, Victor "Luna" Trevino, Amanda Ramos, and Pablo "Karate" Moreno.
Rookies impressive at local boxing show!
April 11, 2010

Randazzo's Boxing Gym based out of San Antonio hosted a boxing show in preparation for this coming weeks Junior Olympic tournament in Kingsville. We were
able to showcase a few of our new boxers and they didn't disappoint. Christopher "Santos" Martinez & Victor "Luna" Trevino both went on to score a win in their
first outings in impressive fashion. Christian Santibanez & Ramon Cardenas both looked equally impressive in scoring their "dubyas" vs boxers from New Mexico.
Steven Duron jumped up a weight class & age division to challenge the much bigger boxer and dropped a tough decision.

Christopher "Santos" Martinez vs Alvin Velez (Wolverine Boxing - San Antonio) Martinez decision to workout with the "big boys" at the gym paid off. It was
evident from the get-go Martinez would need to use all his arsenal if he was going to pull off the win. Velez managed to score a 8 count on Martinez but that just
angered Martinez as he came storming back with an onslaught of punches that had Velez looking for the nearest exit. Martinez would go on to claim the victory.
Victor "Luna" Trevino vs Anthony Gonzales (Villar - San Antonio) Trevino faced a "veteran" of nine bouts in his first outing. He's paid the price in the
gym so while many people might see this as a mismatch our team sees it as an, EVEN match. He proved our coaches right by going out and trading punches
with the much more experience Gonzales. The final round proved the be the deciding factor of the fight. Trevino was able to maintain a high punch output
and eventually wore down Gonzales to score the win.
Christian Santibanez vs Isaac Gurele (Albuquerque, New Mexico) Santibanez showed his vintage self in a dominating performance over New Mexican,
Gurele. Santibanez started strong scoring with powerful punches throughout the bout as his opponent went on survival mode after tasting some leather in the
1st. Santibanez scored a standing eight count in route
to his victory.
Ramon Cardenas vs J.C. Penn (Albuquerque, New Mexico) Cardenas was equally impressive against Gurele's teammate, Penn. Cardenas stalked the
backpedaling Penn all over the ring for all 3 rounds scoring a standing eight count in the 2nd. Cardneas was on the verge of scoring the KO as the final bell
sounded.
Steven Duron vs Saul Montes (Randazzo Bros.) Duron moved up a weight class & age division for this bout in order to get in some work before the JO
Tournament. As expected the bout was a tough one to score with both boxers having their moments. In the end, Montes had "one more moment" than
Duron and scored the 4-1 victory.

This years Junior Olympic tournament gave officials, boxers and coaches a platform to display their true colors. Sweeping our disagreements under
the carpet we allowed our boxers fists to do most of the talking. In the end, those boxers that were supposed to win won, and those who were
supposed to lose, lost.

Our Team picked up the 2nd place Team Trophy. Cresencio Ramos & Ramon Cardenas won gold and advanced to the State Junior Olympic
tournament. Julian Ramos, Gold. Christian Santibanez & Pete Contreras claimed Silver. Steven Duron dropped a disputed 3-2 decision in his first
outing & Chrstopher "Santos" Martinez came up on the short end of a 5-0.

Long weekend......more updates Monday night.......ok so I lied, Tuesday night.
Boxers advance to J.O. State Tournament!
Team picks up 2nd place Team Trophy.
Well, I lied. I tried getting to the JO summary last week but the day had no hours left. I'll start from the lightest boxer to the heaviest.

Christopher Martinez vs Felipe Narvaez (Angel's) This was the 2nd bout of "Santos" short career. Although he made it interesting by having a
strong final round Narvaez had built a nice lead in the first two that would have required a TKO by Martinez. C

Pedro Contreras - Petey had  tough tournament. After pulling a VERY close decison over Roman Ruiz (3-2 could have easily gone the other way)
he
pulled a Martinez and didn't wake up until the final round in the finals vs former national champion Adolfo Alaniz. Although he scored some good
shots in the final round he lost a 5-0 decision. D

Ramon Cardenas advanced to the State Tournament with a dominating performance over Corpus Christi's Gilberto Hernandez. In route to his
victory Cardenas scored 3 standing 8 counts and was on the verge of the 4th as the final bell sounded. B
Christian Santibanez was very impressive in this tournament. We saw vintage Santibanez as he scored very impressive victories over Ismael Salas
and the improving Blake Uresti. In the finals Santibanez met up with 2010 National Champion Luis Castro. As the final bell sounded I was sure
Santibanez would be named the victor. He wasn't. He was sent home with a close decision loss to Castro. B

Cresencio Ramos continues to show signs of physical maturity by the day. He was able to pull out 3 impressive victories. He scored two impressive
wins over Rafale Ansurez & Joshua Roman to get into the finals. In the finals he met up with #2 ranked David Rios of Edingburg. Once again Ramos
stepped it up a notch as he has done in the past and came away with the clear victory to advance to El Paso. A

Steven Duron dropped a 3-2 split decison to veteran John Baladez. This decision was a coin flip as a win for Duron would have been as equally
deserving. The improving Duron has a bright future if he continues to work on his craft. A

Julian Ramos - Unopposed champion

For our efforts our team was awarded the 2nd place Team Trophy. Congratulations to all the boxers for their hard work.
Newson & Contreras impressive in San Marcos!
May 3, 2010

It was a rare Sunday show for South Texas boxing this weekend. Manuel Sepeda put on a boxing show at the Hays County Civic Center of mostly
pre-matched bouts. There were few surprises. Newson  abandoned his poor man Roy Jones style and Petey decided to leave his dancing shoes
back home. They were both impressive in their wins.

Pete Contreras vs Roman Ruiz (Bully Unit) After these boxers last fight in Kingsville a rematch was needed. Their last outing was a 3-2 decision in
favor of Contreras that could have easily gone in Roman's favor. Contreras stayed disciplined with the game-plan and scored a convincing 5-0
decision this time around.

Devorise Newson vs Dilon Cannizales (Austin-PAL) Newson counter punching style against the taller opponent worked in his favor. After scoring
a 8 count in the first round Newson remained patient and continued to counter. It was a low scoring bout that was boring for those in attendance but
easy for the judges to score. Newson who continues to improve. scored the 5-0 decision.
Trevino scores victory over familar foe!
Floresville, Texas
May 17, 2010 -

Victor Trevino was the lone representative of our boxing gym in Floresville, Tx  this past weekend. He was matched up against Anthony
Gonzales of Villlar Boxing Club (announced as unattached until he pays his gym dues) who Victor had already beat last month at
Randazzo's Bros. boxing show in the first fight of his career. The rematch was set. Victor continued where he left off and scored the
victory. This was Gonzales 12th bout, Trevino's 2nd. Hopefully then can fight 200 more times and Victor can tell his grandchildren he was
a boxer with a record of 202-0.
Ramos back on track!
\May 30, 2010

Cresencio Ramos earned a victory over 2010 Tx State Champion Francisco Martinez of Austin -  PAL  in San Marcos this past Sunday. Ramos was
consistent with his body attack throughout the fight and was able to connect with cleaner shots to earn the 4-1 victory over Martinez.

Our boxers will be in action this coming Saturday in San Antonio.
Duron & Ramos victorious at local boxing show!
June 5, 2010

Finally was able to see Cresencio & Steven's bout from this past weekend. Seems like Steven is finally learning how to box, and is not just fighting.
That's usually a big adjustment for fighters to make. Switching from just fighting to boxing. Boxing is an art, fighting isn't. Anyone can fight, not
anyone can box. His hard work is starting to show in his performance. Cresencio looked impressive as well. He's really settling into his comfort zone
and showing his experience.
Boxers score impressive wins in Austin.
Cresencio Ramos earns " Best Boxer Award".
Austin, TX - June 14, 2010

This weekend turned out to be good for our boxers. We took five boxers to weigh-ins in Austin and four got matched. Only one unable to get
matched was Julian Ramos. Victor & Cresencio were both very impressive. Steven Duron scored a win despite having a "off day". Only one
boxer  was unable to box to her potential, Amanda Ramos. Nothing a few weeks of good hard work can't fix.

Victor Trevino vs Leonardo Rios (Pit Boxing Austin) On paper it looked like a mismatch. Rios was more experience, heavier and older.
None of this mattered to Victor. He was determined to score the win. He boxed like a veteran and stuck to the game-plan to score the clear
victory. With the win he improved his record to 4-0.

Steven Duron vs Jessie Martinez (New Braunfels) It's obvious Duron is still looking to find himself in the ring. He's still searching for the
comfort zone that comes along with experience. This can't be taught. It is learned inside the ropes. Until then Duron will continue to pile up wins if
he continues to work hard and stay in shape. It was a good to see Duron win despite having an off day.

Cresencio Ramos vs Fransico Martinez (Austin - PAL) This was a rematch from San Marcos two weeks ago. Their first fight was close.
Although it was clear Cresencio would be declared the victor, he wasn't at his best. This time proved to be different. Cresencio delivered a
dominating performance that earned him the, "Boxer of the Night" Award. He dominated all three rounds in route to the victory.

Amanda Ramos vs Cristal Mendoza (Uvalde) After being inactive for over 18 months Ramos ring rust showed. Hopefully the loss motivates
her to train a little harder in seek of a rematch.

Boxers have strong showing at home!
Victor Trevino continues to impress!

Despite not being 100% our boxers took their skills into the ring Saturday afternoon at the Joe Souza Boxing Gym (Used to be SAPR, San
Fernando then it changed to Jesse James Leija Gym now I'm changing it to Joe Souza's Gym. Which is what it should have been re-named in the
first place.) After our first week of training for this years Ringside Tournament we decided to test the waters by allowing our boxers to compete at
a local boxing show. Most of the boxers training for Kansas weighed in. A total of eight ended up getting matched. The lone boxer who came up
on the losing end was Jose "J.B." Bonguil. J.B. dropped a close 3-2 to Braulio Martinez of T.N.T. Boxing

Julian Ramos vs Victor Ollva (Fight Factory) Cresencio's little brother finally made his boxing debut. He'll have some big shoes to fill in the
coming years. If his performance in his first bout were any signs of what the future holds he should have no problem filling those shoes. Julian
stayed aggressive throughout the bout and scored the clear victory. B+

Christopher Martinez vs Paul Mungia (Ben Bolt) "Santos" has slowly been showing improvements within himself. When Martinez first started
his biggest obstacle was confidence. Sometimes experience brings that to a boxer. His impressive showing vs Mungia was a sign that he's
beginning to gain the self confidence one needs to be a successful boxer. Martinez was aggressive & a counter puncher when needed. B+

Cresencio Ramos Jr. vs Jarred Saldana (Bully Unit) Cresencio added another win to his long resume of over 95 bouts. Cresencio's speed
and lateral movement were a bit to much for Saladana. Ramos scored solid shots throughout the fight that made the bout an easy one to score
for the judges. B

Steven Escobedo - Cardneas vs Jose Gonzales (USAF) Escobedo is coming off a long lay off due to injuries. His ring rust showed in the first
two rounds but was able to adjust and have a big third round to score the hard fought decision. C+

Ray Cordova vs Marcos Pena (USAF) "You have to take chances" will be Ray motto for the future. Despite the obvious reach disadvantage
(Ray is 5'5" Pena was 6'2") Pena had to adjust his gameplan and chase the smaller Cordova. This worked to Ray advantage. C+

Ramon Cardenas vs Jacob Quintanila (Joe Garza Boxing Club - Corpus Christi) Ramon faced a C.Christi boxer who was his teammate at
the State JO Tournament in El Paso last month. With the experienced pretty even it came down to who had paid the price in the gym leading up
to the bout. Cardenas scored to standing 8 counts and hurt Quinantilla throughout the bout. The dazed & confused Quintanilla backpedaled
throughout the bout but remained on his feet until the final bell. A

Victor Trevino vs Luis Delgado (Joe Souza's Gym) Delgado was a State Runner-up in El Paso last month. He scored two impressive victories
to reach the finals in El Paso. Trevino in his 4th amateur bout took on the 20+ bout veteran without an ounce of fear or self doubt. It paid off.
Trevino was on the attack from the opening bell and scored the victory. Victor continues to impress and people are noticing. He was named
Athlete of the Month for the month of June after scoring a victory (twice) over a boxer with 10 bouts in his 1st and 2nd bout. With his latest victor
Trevino upped his record to 4-0. A+

Jose J.B. Bonguil vs Braulio Martinez (T.N.T. Boxing) This was an action packed fight. They traded leather from the sound of the bell and
didn't stop until the final bell was heard to end the bout. Martinez picked up a close 3-2 decision over J.B. This was JB's first fight with our club. It
was his 13th bout. B
Julian Ramos vs Victor Ollva 6-27-10
Christopher Martinez vs Paul Mungia 6-27-10
Cresencio Ramos vs Jared Saldana 6-27-10

Ramos avenges loss to Jones.
Team continues impressive run.
Austin, TX - July 10, 2010

A group of 10 boxers headed North to Austin for Anne Wolfe's Pro-Am card this past weekend. Cresencio Ramos, Pablo Moreno & Ramon
Cardenas were all in action. Ramos was pre-matched vs Kameron Jones (Texas Select - Dallas) a rematch of a previous bout at this years State
Tournament in El Paso. Other boxers who competed were Ramon Cardenas & Pablo Moreno.

Cresencio Ramos vs Cameron Jones (Texas Select - Dallas) After dropping a heartbreaking loss to Jones earlier this year at the State
Tournament in El Paso a rematch was inevitable. Texas Select traveled to Austin for the rematch. Unlike the first time these two met it was a little
more "exciting" this time around. Ramos started the bout aggressive and stayed on Jones throughout the bout. The two exchanged punches in the
center of the ring on more than one occasion with Ramos landing the clear punches to score the victory.

Ramon Cardenas vs Mike Yanez (Anne Wolfe - Austin) These boxers were pre-matched and had time to prepare for each other weeks
before the bout. They were both teammates at the State Tournament in El Paso. Yanez decided to move up a weight class to 106  and challenge
the bigger/stronger Cardenas. What seemed like a pretty even match on paper didn't seem so in action. Cardenas was able to muscle around to
smaller Yanez and score the impressive victory over a very good boxer, Mike Yanez. It was a good win for Ramon.

Pablo Moreno vs Edwin Morgan (Lord's Boxing - Austin) Pablo's graveyard shift at Jack in the Box helped Morgan stay on his feet. Pablo was
able to connect with strong 1-2's throughout the bout but was unable to finish off the determined Morgan. This was Pablo's 2nd bout.

2010 Ramos Boxing Ringside World
Championship Team named!
July 31, 2010

After six weeks of training camp a group of 10 boxers (total 14)  will be making the week long trip to Kansas City for this years Ringside
World Championship tournament. Due to the large number of boxers (total of 26) fighting for a spot on our team we decided to change
a few things on how to make the team. Each boxer had to meet certain goals on, pushups, tip-toe pushups pullups, 1 mile, 3 mile &
spar 15 minutes straight with 10 different boxers without a break. After six weeks of hard training & some competition our six coaches
voted on the top ten boxers to make the team. We also chose 3 to make the trip as part of the B team.  and 1 as C team. Being that we
have a 12 passenger van the top 10 boxers (& 2 coaches) will travel together and room together. The B & C team will travel on their
own and room together. This method has helped our boxers set goals and work towards them. Boxers who reach their goals & work
hard are rewarded. "Boxing sometimes has nothing to do with Boxing."

14 out of 26 boxers who started camp will be traveling with the team to Kansas.

Salazar, Dennison draw in four

In a... four-round super-bantamweight bout, Albuquerque’s Nohime Dennison (4-1-1) and Celina Salazar (3-0-1), of San Antonio, Texas, fought to
a split draw.

Salazar landed the cleaner punches in the first, though Dennison was busier – just less effective. The second was closer, Salazar edging the
stanza with the better shots.

Stalking Dennison, Salina’s in-fighting took the third. Unable to do anything in the pocket but clinch, Dennison proved ineffective at close range.
In the fourth, however, Dennison’s work rate earned her points over Salazar, who took off the round.

The judges were split. Las Vegas, Nevada’s Dave Moretti scored it even, 38-38, while Albuquerque’s Anita Sanchez saw Salazar the winner, 39-
37. Yet, somehow, Albuquerque’s Tom King scored every round for Dennison, 40-36, making it a draw.

This reporter had it 39-37 for Salazar.

Ray Ximenez joins professional ranks!
After a spectacular 2nd round KO in his last amateur fight last week Ray Ximenez will be making his pro debut this Saturday in Dallas. He leaves
the amateur ranks as one of the top decorated amateurs in the Dallas area. Ray Jr. is trained by his father, Ray Ximenez Sr.
Ximenez wins pro debut.
Sept.27, 2010 - Posted on fightnews.com

Bantamweight Rey Ximenez (1-0) won his pro debut with a 4 round unanimous decision over the game but outclassed Cristoval Larrazolo (1-3).
Ximenez, who was the 2010 Ringside World Amateur Champion and 2009 U.S. Jr Olympic Champion, dropped Larrazolo in the 1st round with a
left hook and again in the 2nd round with a left right combination. Ximenez showed his superior speed throughout and cruised to the victory
with scores of 40-33 and 40-34 twice. Ray's next bout will be in Dallas on the undercard of Margarito vs Pacquiao

Ramos Boxing Team traveled to Dallas, Tx this past weekend to support our "step-teammate" in his pro debut. Ray Ximenez started his pro
career with a impressive performance vs the more experienced boxer, Cristoval Larrazolo. His next bout will be announced later this month.

Overall the card was pretty exciting for the fans. The same thing CAN'T be said about the local boxing cards here in San Antonio. Not only did
they put on some good competitive exciting bouts but it was FREE! General Admission seating was free If you wanted to upgrade to a lower
seat you needed to pay 5 dollars, ringside upgrade was 25. That's good promoting! That's how you make boxing fans. Low cost & exciting
bouts and you work your way up from there. You must first make BOXING FANS then you can start charging them an arm and a leg. These
local promoters have it backwards. They put on lopsided boxing matches and expect the fans to jump out of their seats in joy and continue to
attend future cards. I'm finally starting to see why the local boxing scene has died out. The people promoting locally are in it for one thing, $$$
nothing else.

Boxers enter 1st Olympic Trials Qualifier!
San Antonio will host this years first Olympic Trials Qualifier. Representing our boxing gym at this years PAL:Touranment:

Christopher Martinez 85 lbs Pedro Contreras III    90 lbs Victor Trevino          101 lbs Ramon Cardenas      110 lbs Cresencio Ramos Jr  119 lbs

Cardenas & Ramos drop decision in finals.
Pedro Contereras settles for bronze.

San Antonio, TX hosted this years PAL Nationals for the 2nd consecutive year. This years tournament was the first Olympic Trials qualifier. Each
Olympic year the Olympic Trials include  the top 8 boxers in the country. All fighting for a chance to represent the United States at the Olympics.
Unlike last year this years tournament included the top boxers in the country in the JO & Senior divisions. For many San Antonio boxers this was
their first chance to experience the Olympic scoring system. This same system is also used at all major national tournaments throughout the
country.

If our STABA is serious about developing the best boxers in the country it would be wise to find a way to start using this same system in our LBC
This would help our boxers make adjustments to their style and give them the experience needed to be able to compete with he top boxers in
our country.

Although some of our boxers were inexperienced and would more than likely face the top boxers in the country it was a good opportunity to see
where each boxer stood against the best. They didn't disappoint.

Our boxers were able to earn two silver medals and one bronze. Cresencio Ramos lost to his nemesis in the finals and picked up a Silver medal.
Ramon Cardenas inexperience with the scoring system was exposed and also had to settle for Silver. The other medalist was Pete Contreras.
He dropped a 5-2 decision to 2010 Silver Gloves National Champion Brandon Vega of Cleveland, OH.

Overall our boxers faired well. They were able to hang in there with the best boxers in the country. The same can't be said about others. It sucks
being ranked#1 then losing to an unranked boxer. Personally, I don't know that feeling but I'm sure it sucks. In boxing it's not about getting to the
top, it's about staying at the top.

Other results were:

Christopher Martinez 85 lbs dropped a 3-1 decision in only his 6th bout.

Pedro Contreras III    90 lbs Bronze dropped a 5-2 decision to 2010 National Silver Gloves Champion & Outstanding boxer of the tournament.

Steven Duron           125 lbs dropped a 9-5 to #1 ranked boxer and eventual winner, George Naclerio (Naclerio was named outstanding boxer in
the country at this years 2010 Junior Olympic National tournament)

Christian Santibanez 132 lbs dropped a 8-1 decision.

Ray Cordova            132 lbs lost to a familiar foe who he had beaten earlier this year at the Ringside Tournament, Ruben Gonzales.

JB Bonugli                141 lbs dropped a 15-12 decision to former Silver Gloves National Champion, Robert Gibbs.

Salazar settles for a draw, again.
Oct. 20, 2010

They say when you travel to an opponents hometown and get a draw, it usually means a win. Well, what happens when two boxers from the same
hometown box to a draw? Is it really a draw? A win? A loss? Or just a boring fight? Probably all of the above. A draw to some is a win, to others a
loss and to many, just disappointing. Going into a fight one always expects to win. Anything less would feel like a loss. That's exactly how this draw
feels to us. When you go into a bout not expecting to win and receive a draw, to many that can be considered a victory. Or maybe some are just
glad that what felt should have been a loss was a draw?

Roy Ovalle had Salazar winning 3 out of 4 rounds. The other two judges had it at 2 a piece.

Roy Ovalle 39-37 | judge: Ruben Carrion 38-38 | judge: Glen Rick Crocker 38-38 ~

I demand Carrion fight Crocker 4x3 minute rounds and Salazar, Ruiz and I can score the bout. Ovalle can be the ringside physician. Ray Charles
can be the timekeeper.

Ray Ximenez Jr to Face Rafael Casias on Nov 20
Written by Sean Malone
http://www.northtexasfisticuffs.com/2010-articles/october/ray-ximenez-jr-to-face-rafael-casias-on-nov-20.html

Ximenez will have no easy task on that night as he will stand across the ring from Fort Worth’s Rafael Casias.  Fight fans here in
North Texas are well aware of the ring exploits of Casias.  Armed with the heart of a warrior, Casias has engaged in some of the
most memorable battles to ever take place in the DFW.

A Casias-Ximenez bout is one that contains enough fireworks to light up the sky.  Expect a slugfest.

Raul Martinez v. Rodrigo Guerrero
http://www.badlefthook.com/2010/11/18/1823344/bad-left-hook-weekend-quick-picks-raul-martinez-rodrigo-guerrero

Those who don't have HBO but do have Fox Sports Net have a decent alternative this weekend for live boxing, as a couple of top ten super
flyweights fight an IBF eliminator in Thackerville, Oklahoma. San Antonio's Martinez (27-1, 16 KO) has quietly become one of the top 115-
pounders in the world, in part because some have left the ranks and in part because he keeps winning. His only loss came in 2009 to Nonito
Donaire (TKO-4) and he's lacking a signature win, but he looks like he has the goods. Guerrero (14-2-1, 9 KO) took a horrendous beating in a
mismatch against Vic Darchinyan earlier this year on Showtime, but showed a solid chin and a lot of resolve staying in for 12 rounds in a fight that
probably should have been stopped (oh no, I said it) at some point. Guerrero came back from that loss to defeat Federico Catubay in Mexico. I'm
going with Martinez, and I think it might wind up being surprisingly easy. Martinez isn't Darchinyan, but Guerrero wasn't even close to Darchinyan's
level. Guerrero does have wins over current titlist Juan Alberto Rosas and longtime contender Luis Concepcion, however. But I like Martinez, so I'm
going with him. Scientific, no?
Garbage In, Garbage out!
Julian Ramos advances to Littlerock, Ark.
Dec. 12, 2010

This years State Silver Gloves team was one of the smallest group of boxers we have taken in most recent years. This years team
consisted of Julian Ramos, Christopher Martinez, Pete Contreras & Ramon Cardenas. Most of our boxers were caught in between
age divisions for junior and senior division competition. To old for Silver Gloves but too young for the LBC tournament. Some boxers
are short changed each year throughout the country cause of this.

This year we will have one representative in Littlerock, AK., Julian Ramos. Pete Contreras, Ramon Cardenas and Christopher
